The Gift of Color 2013

The team at Performance Painting has a great passion for giving back. For the past few years, they have held their annual charity event, “Gift of Color.” The employees at Performance Painting volunteer their time to provide a local charity or person in need with a free paint makeover, valued at $7500.
This event means a great deal to the Performance Painting team, and choosing a winner is never easy. That’s why we need you! Help us decide who should win the “Gift of Color” as all three are great causes, but we can’t decide. Take a moment and review their story and then place your vote for the one that you feel should receive the “Gift of Color.”

Voting is until December 22nd at www.Performance-Painting.com/vote.

Our candidates this year:

New Admin Building Painted for Camp I am Special

Sponsor: Catholic Charities via Diocese of St Augustine

Story: Camp I Am Special is the only one of its kind in this area where children, teens, and adults with one or more physical, emotional and developmental disabilities, such as muscular dystrophy or Autism, come to gain independence, grow personally, and experience the pure joy of summer camp. The Gift of Color project would put the finishing touches on their new camp building creating a welcoming setting for their summer program.

Home of Ronnie and Rhonda Williams

Sponsor: First Baptist Church of Jacksonville

Story: While attending church one Sunday, the Williams home caught on fire and claimed the lives of their beloved dog while ravishing the home they had lived in for over 34 years. They were between homeowner’s insurance and they are struggling to complete the repairs. The church is working hard to support their own deacon and his family and this Gift of Color would be the finishing touches to revive their beloved home.

Crown Point Elementary School

Sponsor: Mandarin United Methodist Church.

Story: The courtyard of the Crown Point Elementary is a gathering place. The families enjoy coming to the courtyard to have lunch with their children.

The student patrols begin their day at the flagpole and the tables. Family events are hosted at the school with the most popular being “movie night.” The school creates a big screen with a tarp and families enjoy a movie together on blankets. It is great family fun.

With so much happening at the courtyard, it is in desperate need of a paint makeover. Volunteers have been giving the courtyard a little TLC where they can for the past few years, but this is a project that needs experts.

The Gift of Color would mean so much to the families and students of Crown Point Elementary.
