Performance Painting Contractors has been giving a Gift of Color to Jacksonville’s nonprofits and people in need since 2011. This year’s recipient is the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station.
“We have been accepting nominations from the public since January. We had a lot of great candidates which always makes the decision tough. We presented the nominees to the Performance Painting team at this year’s mid-year meeting and took a vote,” said, Jason Parker, Owner of Performance Painting Contractors.
The Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station is maintained by the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps. The organization hosts several fundraising events throughout the year to cover the costs of the building and they receive some funds from the American Red Cross. The building has not seen a paint brush in some time and it is beginning to show. Unfortunately the funds are limited and paint is at the bottom of the “need list”. Providing the building with the Gift of Color paint makeover will not only help the aesthetics of the building but also help with the maintenance as well as the emotional impact of their volunteers.
The Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station will be painted by Performance Painting Contractors’ volunteers on August 20, 2016. “I look forward to the Gift of Color every year. It gives me a chance to work with my colleagues and give back to the community. Giving back is very rewarding to us,” said Meagan Jarrell, Inside Operations Manager at Performance Painting Contractors.
In past years, the Gift of Color only took nominations during the fall and awarded a nonprofit, veteran or person in need that winter. The team at Performance Painting Contractors wanted to do more. They have opened up the nominations to a year-round event and will be awarding the Gift of Color donation, valued at $7500, twice a year.
